being as I haven't seen my boyfriend in what seems like ages, we decided skyping would be a good alternative to just the normal texting and phone calls.

I would definitely say that it really helps.  He was dumb and had some trouble with the law and is now on probation so that makes things even harder because he can't come down and see me as much and I don't have a car here at school so I can't make the drive to go see him either.

any advice on long-distance relationships would always be nice, leave a comment and let me know what works for you guys.

every time he does come those are some of the best times I have had here at college.  Not saying that my experience here so far has been bad but it's always hard to have a completely good time when there is always someone on the back of your mind that you really miss.

I have gotten a little homesick between missing him and especially my mom, but overall I rate my college experience an A+

I have written a rough draft of my literacy narrative! Yay! Go me! It wasn't as hard as I was expecting because I had a nice outline to work off of.  The hardest part was making all the specific points I had throughout the year flow together.  I'm still not sure that I have gotten that down completely but I will find out in class later today.  Reading other examples of narratives is definitely my best advice to give to anyone else that is writing their own literacy narrative.  I have also finished reading the Henrietta Lacks book.  I thought we were supposed to have it read before school even started so now I have had to go back through and re-read parts to make sure I can remember the specific events for whatever part I need for a certain class.  That's kind of frustrating but at least it will help me engrain elements of the book into my mind in case I get tested on it.
